This box contains cheeses from three different local producers as well as crackers and chutney, all hand made in Kent. Canterbury Cheese Makers are local to Whitstable and make two of the cheeses on this board as well as supplying the other Kent cheeses in this box. The Captains Crackers are made just up the road in Herne Bay and make a perfect pairing with the Ashmore especially if topped with handmade chutney.

Ashmore Farmhouse from Cheesemakers of Canterbury. This is an award-winning unpasteurised hard cheese full of body and flavour. It is made from British Friesian cow’s milk and matured for a minimum of six months. This cheese is perfect with a fruity chutney.

Chaucer's’ Cheese, like the Ashmore Farmhouse, is also made by Cheesemakers of Canterbury at their dairy in Dargate. This is a 3-star Great Taste Award winner 2014. It is made from British Friesian cow’s milk and is a rich and creamy soft cheese. The maturation process takes place over three weeks.

Ellie’s Goats Cheese Original is made by Ellie’s Dairy and was awarded Bronze medal at the 2010 British Cheese Awards. This is a semi-soft, pasteurised cheese which is made in small batches by the dairy.

Kentish Blue from Kingcott Dairy is a young blue cheese with a firm but moist texture. It has gentle, smooth flavours on the first bite developing into a long lasting pleasant aftertaste. It is made with unpasteurised raw milk. This cheese is made by a small, family run business in Staplehurst using milk from their own dairy herd.

Captains Chai & Chive Crackers make a perfect accompaniment to the different cheeses.

The board is topped off by a lovely fruity chutney. The chutney varies throughout the seasons and is usually supplied by either Karly's Kitchen in Margate or The Whitstable Pickle Company.
